LUNAR ECLIPSE1.25 light-seconds When the Moon passes through the shadow of the Earth, we see a lunar eclipse. Only the red part of Sunlight, bent by the Earth's atmosphere, reaches the Moon, giving it a vivid coppery colour. This multiple-exposure image was taken during the eclipse of 30th December 1982.
