M96
31 million light-years
Located in the constellation Leo (the lion), M96 is one of the dominant galaxies in the Leo galaxy group. Its spiralling arms span around 100 thousand light-years, about the size of the Milky Way. Also visible are distant galaxies as well as smaller ones in the same group as M96.
